ABN and tax invoice checker

Before you pay a farrier, transporter or trainer, check that their invoice looks right. Enter the ABN and this tool checks the number using the official check-digit method published by the Australian Business Register. It then takes you through the ATO's list of what a tax invoice must show, including the extra requirement for invoices of $1,000 or more and the rules when there are several co-owners. A valid-looking number doesn't prove who owns it or whether they're registered for GST. To check that, use the government's ABN Lookup. Australia only.
