Sponsors on horse.work
How sponsors appear on horse.work, how they are labelled, the categories we decline and why sponsors never influence reviews, ratings or the order of listings.
Sponsors pay to be shown. They don't pay for, review or approve our articles, ratings, reviews or the order of listings. Sponsored content is always labelled “Sponsored” and kept apart from our editorial. We may decline or remove any sponsor.
How a sponsor appears
- A grey card marked Sponsored, on town, state and category pages, after the Featured block. At most one per page.
- It looks different from a listing and from a Featured card: no stars, no Verified badge, no rating.
- Links to a sponsor are marked
rel="sponsored"for search engines. - Sponsors never appear on a business's own profile, review pages, claim or enquiry forms.
- We serve sponsor cards ourselves. There is no ad network and no third-party tracking script. We count clicks on a sponsor card as a daily total, with no visitor details.
- Sponsors get no enquiry data, no leads and no say in which providers are listed or in what order.
What we don't accept
We decline sponsors in these categories:
- Wagering and gambling, including racing bets, tipping and fantasy sports
- Alcohol
- Weight-loss, “detox” and unregistered health or therapeutic products, for people or animals
- Anything that harms animal welfare
These are accepted only after we have checked the claims and any licences they need:
- Equine feed and supplements
- Financial products and insurance
- Cryptocurrency
We don't recommend feed, supplement or health products, and sponsors don't make health or efficacy claims on our pages.
Featured is different
Featured placements on listings are explained on How Featured works. Sponsored cards and Featured listings are separate, and each is labelled.
Horse Work is operated by Design Box Digital Pty Ltd, which may also list its own business. Its own listing receives no free Featured placement.
