Coghills Creek VIC
About
Terry Kelly Racehorse Agistment is based at Coghills Creek near Ballarat, Victoria, below Mount Beckworth and about 117 kilometres west of Melbourne. Terry Kelly started pre-training racehorses in 1982, gained his thoroughbred trainer's licence in 1984 and ran Terry Kelly Racing from 1994 before turning his focus to spelling and care. The farm has improved pasture, shelter belts and covered yards, with walk-in walk-out boxes set in quarter-acre paddocks and fifteen spelling paddocks of eight acres each. Racehorses coming off the track are rugged and kept on regular hoof care, and undercover barn space suits box rest after surgery. Mares and foals are cared for from birth through weaning to racing, and a vet is on call around the clock about ten minutes away.
