About
South Wairarapa Veterinary Services, also known as SWVets, is a locally owned veterinary organisation operating three clinics located in Carterton, Masterton, and Greytown. The practice employs experienced veterinarians and veterinary technicians who cater to horses, donkeys, farm livestock, and companion animals throughout the Wairarapa district. Equine healthcare services include routine check-ups, horse dental exams, faecal egg counts (FEC), preventative care, and specialised surgical interventions. The Carterton hospital on State Highway 2 handles daytime consultations alongside emergency care. In addition, SWVets partners with VetChat to provide telephone triage for after-hours emergencies, connecting horse owners directly with an on-call veterinarian when urgent in-person treatment is needed.
