About
Hunter Horse Haven Inc. is a volunteer-run horse rescue and sanctuary at Anna Bay, New South Wales, registered as a not-for-profit charity. Since forming in 2018, it has taken in abandoned, neglected and mistreated horses from across the state to rehabilitate, retrain and rehome them. Up to twenty horses are in care at once, and all breeds are accepted, whether surrendered, bought at auction or taken from private situations. Horses that are suited to it are retrained and offered for adoption under contract, while older or medically fragile horses stay on as permanent sanctuary residents. Feed, farrier, dental and vet costs are covered through public donations, business sponsors and individual horse sponsorships.
