About
Chalani Australian Stock Horses is a family-owned breeding stud based at Strathalbyn, South Australia. Established by Jeanette Gower in the late 1960s with foundation mare Paradis, the stud is run alongside family members Peter and Kim Gower. The breeding programme focuses on preserving Australian Stock Horse bloodlines, utilising genetic principles to produce athletic horses measuring between 15.1 and 16.1 hands. Chalani horses are bred for calm temperaments suitable for both novices and experienced riders, performing across led, hack, working, and challenge events. Stallions standing at the stud include Chalani Sunstream and Chalani Galaxy. Chalani Australian Stock Horses offers youngstock for sale, often as weanlings, and provides ongoing after-sales support to buyers.
