About
The ACT Endurance Riders Association, or ACTERA, is an incorporated organisation dedicated to conducting and promoting endurance horse riding in the Australian Capital Territory and surrounding districts. The association organises competitive endurance rides of at least 80 kilometres, as well as shorter introductory events covering 40 kilometres, 22 kilometres, and 13 kilometres designed for newcomers to the sport. Its annual fixture, the National Capital Endurance Ride, is traditionally staged from its Brookvale base. ACTERA brings together endurance riders, veterinarians, and equestrian community members with an emphasis on horse welfare and management during competition. The association also recognises achievement through its perpetual honours, including the Bruce Neal Perpetual Trophy, the Allen Blundell Memorial Trophy, and an honour roll celebrating successful middleweight and heavyweight completions.
